My First Bitcoin is bringing its Bitcoin Educators Unconference to Vancouver, Canada for the first time. The 6th edition takes place on August 15, 2025, the day before the education-focused Learning Bitcoin conference, and follows previous gatherings in San Salvador, Madeira and Nashville.
A conference where everyone can speak
Unlike a typical conference, an Unconference runs on the principle that every attendee is a (potential) speaker. Participants pitch ideas at the start of the day, and those ideas are then grouped into separate breakout rooms. The format reflects the organization’s commitment to an impartial, independent, decentralized and community-led approach, with grassroots projects and Bitcoin education at its center.
A conference which empowers individuals, families, or businesses with knowledge and skills to navigate the Bitcoin space via a community setting of workshops, panels and keynotes.
Building on past editions
Earlier Unconferences have drawn industry thought leaders such as Jeff Booth and Preston Pysh, alongside grassroots educational projects including Bitcoin Ekasi, AmityAge and Motiv Peru. Past discussions have spanned global education, grassroots adoption, privacy, fundraising, the gamification of educational resources, and tools for youth. Interested speakers can submit their ideas through a Google Form.
