How the network governs itself

Monthly Meetings in Our General Assembly

Testimonials of Educators & Community Leaders

Joining this network and meeting people who share the goal of dismantling Fiat through education has helped us fulfill our dream: consolidating circular economies using Bitcoin across Colombia.

Carolina
Bitcoin Educator & Community Leader (Co-founder of "Mi Tierra Digital")
For me, this is the best fundamental educational curriculum to convert non-Bitcoiners to become Bitcoiners.

Dimas
Co-founder of Bitcoin Indonesia
Learning in my own language made all the difference. It finally clicked.

Angella Malika Tete
Bitcoin Educator
Most people use money and they don't know what money is. Any curriculum for anyone to understand Bitcoin must first explain the history of money — what money even is.

Martin Mutonga
Founder of Bitcoin School Kenya & Bitcoin Educator
Bitcoin is actually freedom for everyone. It does not discriminate whether you're rich or poor — it is decentralized, I have my own money, and no one is going to take it from me.

Brian Ondabu
Bitcoin Educator & Community Leader (Chairman of Safi Boys Youth Group)

FAQ

What is the Education Network?

It is a decentralized, self-governing global network of 86 projects across 40 countries. It serves as a social layer where local educators, meetup organizers, and community builders connect to share best practices, solve operational challenges, and accelerate the growth of open-source Bitcoin education worldwide.

What are the requirements to join the Network?

To join, your project must strictly align with our six foundational principles: your educational initiatives must be Bitcoin-only, independent, impartial, community-led, focused on high quality, and prioritize empowerment over profit.

What is the difference between a "Light Node" and a "Full Node" in the Network?

Just like the Bitcoin network, our community is decentralized: Light Nodes are local projects focused on teaching the Bitcoin Diploma on the ground. Full Nodes take on extra responsibilities, including network governance (reviewing new applications), providing mentorship, and testing new educational tools and resources.

What happens during the monthly General Assemblies?

The General Assembly is where the magic happens. Once a month, the Network meets and breaks out into specialized rooms to tackle practical challenges. We collaborate on solutions for fundraising, scaling local operations, teaching methodologies, student retention, and marketing or visibility support.

Who can apply to join the Network and how do I get started?

If you are a meetup organizer, community builder, school teacher, or developing a Bitcoin circular economy, we want you! To apply, visit myfirstbitcoin.org/education-network, complete the application form, and review our wiki and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Why should I join the Education Network?

By joining, you instantly plug your local project into the world's leading infrastructure for Bitcoin education. You gain access to fully open-source, multi-language materials, live teacher training cohorts, and an elite global peer group that helps you avoid operational mistakes, secure resources, and drastically speed up your local impact timeline.
