Why We Do What We Do

We believe every human is born with boundless potential.

Education

Education determines whether we believe in that potential or unknowingly limit it.

Good education sparks curiosity and independent thinking.

Bad education teaches compliance and trains people to fit into boxes.

Money

Money determines if we have power to act on our own potential.

Good money secures the value we’ve created and lets us plan our future.

Bad money forces us to live by rules that keep changing and erodes our savings over time.

Education shapes how we think.

Money shapes what we can build.

Together, both shape the future of every community. Yet we've entrusted both to the centralized institutions we should be questioning.

So we ask

  1. What if we separate education from the state?

  2. What if we separate money from the state?

  3. What if we brought education about money back to where it belongs: in our communities?

Let's unleash human potential, together.

Read more about our values
  • Integrity

Our principles are not for sale.

    What won't we compromise?

Trust is earned slowly and lost instantly. Our responsibility is not only to teach Bitcoin. It is to protect the credibility of the education we provide.

Because we work in a field where financial incentives, political interests, and corporate influence are ever-present, integrity cannot be optional. It is the foundation on which everything else depends. We do not compromise our principles for funding, influence, popularity, or personal gain. We choose long-term trust over short-term opportunity. Integrity is not about being perfect. It is about remaining aligned with our values, especially when doing so comes at a cost.

If we lose our integrity, we lose the trust that makes education possible.

  • Impartiality

We teach people how to think, not what to think.

    How do we educate?

Education should never serve political, corporate, or ideological interests. We are independent. We are not funded to promote governments, companies, or financial products. Our only commitment is to help people think critically, verify information for themselves, and reach their own conclusions. Our goal is not to tell people what to believe. It is to give them the tools to decide for themselves.

  • Community

    Learning is fundamentally social.

Why do people need each other?

No individual can discover everything alone. Human progress has always depended on people sharing what they learn with others. Knowledge reaches its highest value when it is shared. Every new idea, experience, and discovery becomes more valuable when it is passed on, questioned, improved, and built upon by others.

Communities are humanity's way of preserving and expanding knowledge across generations. They create something no technology can replace: trust, belonging, accountability, and a shared commitment to helping one another grow. Learning is therefore not just a personal journey: it is a collective responsibility.

Strong communities do more than exchange information. They create environments where people continue learning, teaching, and growing together long after a course has ended.

Knowledge reaches its highest value when it is shared. Strong communities don't just exchange information: they multiply human potential.

  • Ownership

We build the future instead of waiting for it.

    Who is responsible for change?

We believe people are not spectators of history but its authors. Rather than complaining about broken systems, we create better ones. Education should not create passive observers who wait for others to solve problems. It should give people the confidence and capability to improve their own lives, strengthen their communities, and contribute to a better world.

We measure success not by what people know, but by what they go on to build.

  • Transparency

    Openness builds trust.

    How do we earn trust?

Trust should never depend on blind faith. We strive to make our decisions, priorities, and use of resources visible and understandable. Transparency creates accountability. It allows our community to understand not only what we do, but why we do it. As our network grows, we want recognition, funding, and opportunities to be earned through visible contributions rather than personal relationships or centralized authority.

We believe trust grows when people can verify our actions for themselves.

  • Humility

    Learning never ends.

    How do we learn?

We believe certainty is often the greatest obstacle to learning. We never assume we know everything. We all have blind spots, make mistakes, and hold incomplete views of the world. Humility means being willing to change our minds when presented with better evidence, to ask questions without fear, and to admit when we do not know. Because knowledge is never complete, neither is education. We strive to remain students throughout our lives, continually learning, teaching, questioning, and growing alongside our communities.

We value curiosity over certainty and understanding over being right.

  • Empowerment

Give away power to create more of it.

    How do we scale?

We are united by a shared mission, common values, and universal principles, but meaningful change is always local. Rather than designing solutions from a central organization, we empower educators and communities to adapt, experiment, and lead within their own cultural, economic, and educational context while contributing their knowledge back to the global network.

True empowerment means giving away power, not accumulating it. The best decisions are made closest to the people they affect. Our role is not to control the movement, but to strengthen it by connecting people, sharing knowledge, and supporting those creating change in their own communities. We share principles globally, but we build solutions locally.

Success is not measured by how much depends on My First Bitcoin. It is measured by how little it does. Our goal is to build a global network of educators that no central organization needs to coordinate, own, or control. If one day My First Bitcoin becomes unnecessary because the community has taken full ownership of its mission, we will have succeeded.

  • Courage

    Progress begins where comfort ends.

What do we do when our values are tested?

Every meaningful change begins with the courage to question assumptions, challenge the status quo, and act despite uncertainty.

We believe courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to remain true to our principles when doing so comes at a cost. It takes courage to think independently, to admit when we are wrong, to stand by our values, and to build something better instead of accepting what already exists.

We choose principles over comfort, because lasting progress is created by those who have the courage to act.

  • Service

    We create value for others.

    Who do we serve?

We believe meaningful progress begins when people use their unique talents to improve the lives of those around them. Every lesson taught, every question answered, every resource shared, and every community supported is an investment in someone else's potential.

A thriving society is built on voluntary collaboration, where individuals are free to contribute what they do best and exchange value with others. We believe the greatest progress happens when people are rewarded for creating value, not for controlling the rules by which value is measured.

We measure our success not by what we achieve for ourselves, but by the opportunities we create for others to learn, grow, contribute, and flourish.

  • Kindness

    Challenge ideas. Respect people.

    How do we disagree?

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, regardless of their background, beliefs, or level of understanding. We believe the best learning environments are built on respect, empathy, and patience, not judgment, arrogance, or hostility. Kindness creates psychological safety, allowing people to ask questions, challenge ideas, make mistakes, and grow without fear of being ridiculed. In a world where disagreement too often becomes division, we choose to engage with curiosity, generosity, and respect.

Kindness is not weakness. It is the foundation of trust, collaboration, and meaningful education.

  • Collaboration

    Build bridges, not walls.

    Why are differences a strength?

Every person has unique talents, experiences, and perspectives that no one else can fully replicate. Human potential is unlocked when people freely combine those strengths toward a common purpose. The greatest achievements of humanity have never been built by individuals alone, but by people contributing what each of them does best.

We believe collaboration brings out the best in people. When people with different backgrounds and perspectives come together, they see problems that others cannot and discover solutions no one could have found alone. Progress is created by combining ideas, not by forcing agreement.

When we disagree, our goal is not to win the argument or prove that we are right. It is to better understand one another and find better solutions together. We share perspectives without creating divisions, challenge ideas without attacking people, and build bridges instead of walls. The more freely people collaborate across cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs, the more humanity can flourish.
